Three years ago today we moved into our new house. It took four months to build, and was SO much work for Donnie and I to agree on picking everything out... from our light fixtures, to the cabinets & hardware, to the countertops, to paint colors, to the flooring. Every time we came up with a design, we would look at something different. We finally figured it out... and are so happy to call this home. =)
Our family room is our favorite room in the house... it's so comfy, perfect for snuggling up on the sectional and watching movies together. =)
Our dining room is small, just large enough for our big square table... but perfect for our family meals. Donnie got rid of the breakfast nook we've had since Sky was a baby a little while ago, so we currently don't have a table in the kitchen. We're notorious for having empty spaces... we wait until we find something perfect. Ask Koreen! We went without curtains for several weeks because we had such a hard time finding what we wanted. She thought we were CRAZY!! =)
Going from our 50 sq ft kitchen in our duplex on-post into this one felt like quite a luxury. Haha, I definitely enjoy cooking a bit more!!
We're very lucky to have a very large backyard to play in (this is less than a quarter of it). We've done quite a bit of work to it... sodding over half of it, planting trees, putting in the fence and staining it, and Donnie built the gorgeous 82' x 4' retaining wall with his bare hands (he IS quite handy =). We're happy with the way it is coming along, but have a few more projects we'd like to do, including planting flowers and bushes behind the wall and putting in a covered patio. As many of you know, being a homeowner is a LOT of work... it seems the project list just never ends... but it is SO worth it!! We are very fortunate to be a part of the best ward we have ever been in... and we're crossing our fingers we'll be able to stay here for more than just a few more years!!!!!
